So earlier this week I had the most excruciating abdominal pain, nausea, violent D, chills, nausea. This happened 30 minutes after eating bacon and eggs breakfast. Never did recover, pain persisted with nausea. Tylenol with codeine didn't touch the pain. I finally saw my GI 2 days later. He thinks it's a Gallbladder attack. Still wants to see if it's Crohn's so I have a CT scan of abdomen and pelvic area, and Hida scan of Gallbladder Monday.

My question is both diseases can present the same way. The pain has finally subsided but I'm on a bland diet until results are back.

I'm am getting very worn out with all of this. I'm really hoping it's the gallbladder so I can be rid of it. :ymad:

Hi there, it may be different for each person but here it goes ~ gallstones can cause no pain or be really painful. Often once they start acting up they usually will not calm back down. Meaning one attack will be followed by others and the breakfast you describe would be something to make it act up. When we eat fat the gallbladder will release a fluid to help digest it but if stones are present they can move around in get into the duct(s), the small ones are usually a bigger problem then the larger ones. You could have pain that goes into a shoulder, pain under the rib cage, pain when breathing, no comfortable position, nausea for sure, tends to worsen into the night. If you pass a stone you will know it, feels worse then labor pain. On a scale of 1-10 it is a 10 for sure. Remember everyone is different.
An ultra sound can check for stones too.
I had mine removed so if you have any questions please feel free to message me. Food can be tricky after the removal - however I would be happy to share what made things easier.

Much peace.

Stones can block the bile duct.... but so can inflammation. Gallbladder attacks aren't fun, and it may result in pancreas issues... like pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts. Good luck.

Can you produce stones even when your gallbladder has been removed? I have been having similar symptoms but had my gallbladder removed a long time ago....

I had my galbladder removed and that sounds very familiar. Mine wasn't due to stones though, mine was severely infected and inflammed for no reason they could see :( Hope you get answers sooner than later
