Ok so I've never had much of a problem with gas before...my resection was 9 days ago...is this typical for surgery or is it normal bowel? I'm ok one way or another. Everything is actually not bothering my gut so was wondering if it is I'm actually processing better or if my system is still getting used to things???????

Are you saying that you have more gas than before? I had an Ileostomy with some of my small and large intestines taken out. After about 3.5 months with the colostomy bag I had my intestines reattached and since then I have never gone to the bathroom the same way. As far as gas goes, it's still pretty much the same for me. Maybe your gut just needs time to heal before getting back into its normal rhythm.

Yes, actually which is odd. I used to get gassy once in awhile, but this is bloating from gas multiple times a day. I am still mainly on soft foods, but everything else feels like it is working right. Again not freaking out, but finding it odd.

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as it's not causing discomfort. You should still mention it to your GI doctor just to see what he says.

Have you tried gas-x or probiotics? The probiotics helped my gas alot after a week or so. It was getting old running to the toilet every time in case it was a shart.

I have not ever needed any kind of gas relief before. I will pick some up today to have on hand. I'm guessing it is just my gut getting used to things and it is better now that I am eating a few more solids, so I think the soft food was messing with me a bit. ugh. all good though because my stomach is actually letting me eat instead of fighting with me.
