I have just seen on the BBC website that Manchester United and Scotland Footballer Darren Fletcher has had surgery to resolve his issues with Ulcerative Colitis. Best of luck and get well soon!

I knew that he had it, but given that he's been playing recently I assumed he was ok..

I'm assuming that's the end of his career then, surely you can't play competitive football with a colostomy.
