I went down to the hospital to get my TB test so I can start the Humira. I have to wait for the results. I am not sure why but it makes me feel overwhelmed. This will be my fourth biologic. I hope it works.

Hang in there. I hope you have the wonderful benefits from Humira that I had. I had my life back, in remission, for many years, and all without side effects while I was on it. Good luck!:dusty:

Best of luck with the humira , it has really improved my life quality and hope it does as well for you.

My husband just took his first Humira dose on Friday - four pens! They sent out a home health nurse to teach him how to use it, so that was nice. He did great with it -- minimal pain -- and has not had any side effects so far.

I will pray that all goes well for you, since it's your fourth time around.

Thanks . I don't have the best coordination. They have sent a nurse to do it with other biologics but I don't know if they will let that happen this time

If you applied for the Humira complete patient assistance program that sends you this discount card then they are the ones that will send a Humira nurse for your first visit to show you how to give the shots. They should also send a simulator pen and kit in the mail a couple weeks before their visit for you to play around with and practice.

Did you speak with a Humira patient rep when signing up for the card? When C signed up, a humira nurse called us probably within the week and arranged everything. You may want to call the Humira Complete tel # and see that all is set up.

A nurse from Ambassador is coming out Tuesday to get acquainted even before showing out to do shots. Very nice.

Ok so that's it. That's how it went for us as well. Then she returned on injection day to do the shots for training. She said she'd could come back out the following injection day is C didn't yet feel he had it down but he felt he could handle it so he did the next on his own.

We never got the simulator pen, and our Humira Ambassador said she is in Kansas City (we're in SC), so a local nurse came out. But we've been getting phone calls from all over the place... it's confusing! And Humira sends REALLY nice educational materials via Fed-Ex (I think, or maybe it was UPS); I told DH it's no wonder the cost is $2000/dose!

No you can give it in the stomach or tops of your legs. My son uses the stomach because he thinks tops of legs would be more painful. He doesn't have fat in either area but feels he can pinch more skin up in the tummy

When I did the loading doses, I did one in each leg and two in the stomach. The legs hurt me far worse than my belly, so I stuck with my belly for years. Some people don't have a lot of pain with the injections; I was just the opposite. For me, they hurt like hell-o.
