Well not sure where to start. In high school (2002) I was always sick (always vomiting) and I was always at the Dr. but they for something and they never could find anything wrong with me. I have always had people tell me I was a "hypochondriac".

I finely had a Dr. tell me I had something called nervous stomach? That did not fix anything. After going to different dr. for a numerous of things I found a Dr. that sent me to a gastroenterologist. At this time I was already 21 (2007). The first thing he did was a colonoscopy. Before they even got the results back they put me on like 4 or 5 different medications. They did not find much with the colonoscopy so they had to do a few more test.

A few months went by, my insurance tried to claim that what every I has was pre- existing and they would not cover my colonoscopy or any other test. I thing got really depressed, not sure if from the medications or from everything that was going on. So I did not go back to the Dr. I have been sick off and on for 3 years now. I am mainly sick in the mornings. Through out the day I go to the bathroom a lot.

Well last week I got really sick and has a lot of upper abdominal pain and blood so I figured it was not good and I should go back and see the gastroenterologist. Come to find out I was diagnosed with Crohns in 2007 when I never went back to get my test results. So for 3 years I could have been on medication but I have been dealing with it. He immediately started me on Asacal and scheduled me and GI.

On Tuesday I went for an Upper GI Endoscopy. They found a small hiatal hernia, some ulcers in the lower third of the esophagus, erthema and congestion int eh antrum, erthema and congestion int he duodenal bulb. They had to biopsy some stuff. I have not got the results back or talked to the dr yet.

He has started me on Dexilant also. This morning I am very sick and in a lot of pain. I feel hungry. I am waiting on my dr. nurse to call me back. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry if this sounds really rambled I have tried to summarize everything.

:welcome: to the forum! Glad you found us too. So many great people here with your exact problems through their journey. Self denial is quite common too. I was told by my own sister that I was faking for attention and being dramatic.... as it turns out she has Crohn colitis and is a major bleeder... fate has a way of come backs 10fold. NO one wants this disease! It is very hard to diagnose and mimics alot of other things like IBS and other disorders. Much more awareness is needed and less ignorance.

I had to look up the drug Dexilant, and I take Nexium but only if I flare, because I too have just been dx last year with a Hiatus hernia. The only thing I can tell you is to eat smaller meals (low residue diet foods are safe, no dairy) but more times during the day. I feel I got the Hiatus hernia because I was on Prednisone so many times, felt like a heart attack. There is also an exercise for it too, if you want to know it pm me.

Because you are on Antacids, they rob your body of Calcium so make sure you are on absorptable amounts and Vitamin D3 to absorb the calcium.

Hope you get some relief soon,:hang:.

Hi cute
and welcome

I had to look up Dexilant too!
Really hope the Asacol works for you and gives you some relief, if you're nauseous and hungry, try the low residue diet, this will help to reduce the amount of BMs and give the bowels a rest.
we're glad you found us too, lots of friends here for you.
lotsa luv

Hi Cute and :welcome:

I'm glad you found your way here. My daughter had a similar journey to you...........high school, frequent episodes of vomiting, no one able to pin point what the problem was but her problems came to head earlier .......... emergency surgery. That really sucks that they didn't contact you back in 2007 when you had abnormal test results! I hope you hear soon from the doc, I guess if you feeling worse maybe give them a call and let them know what is going on.

This is a great place with loads support and info so please stay around plus there's heaps of members around your age so you will be a most welcome addition. Good luck and keep us posted!

Take care, :)
Dusty

Thanks for all of the support. I called the Dr. today and they gave me ondansetron and dicyclomine. It helped a lot and I made it into work. My doc wants me to come in Tuesday for my upper gi results and i guess to discuss everything that is going on.
