So I've been trying to switch out gluten foods with non gluten foods and it's been going well so far! The only time I really had pain today was when I ate a small hershey kiss....and it sucked badly. So, I guess I'm gluten intolerant....?? I dunno. This was really suppose to be more of an experiment. Anyway, gluten free food is SOOOO expensive that I feel bad getting a $5 loaf of bread when that could get two other things my family needs. I know I shouldn't feel guilty, but I do. Crohns seems to make me feel guilty about a lot of things....

Perhaps try to eliminate the bread completely and try other food options? If it makes you feel better in the long run, you are saving money by not feeling ill?

Don't feel guilty for trying things that may help. There's no need to give up bread! Some people think everything is bad, except what they eat of course..
good luck.

A lot of people avoid wheat and/or gluten because they 'might' have coeliac disease or wheat allergy (two different things). Its worth getting your doc to test you before assuming it to be the case. The blood test is considered to be 90% sensitive and 99% accurate.

Here is a useful article by a lady who contacted Hershey's regarding gluten. (it looks like the kisses - plain - are ok with respect to gluten, though cocoa products bother many people with IBD).

Good luck on the gluten free diet! Eating this way has helped me greatly. I remember liking the taste of some of the alternative breads, a company from Canada made some delicious rolls I recall, but then again a few corn and rice breads seemed to be made from cardboard.

Thought to mention that a few of the prepared gluten free foods can be loaded with fiber, which caused me trouble. In particular, remember well some high fiber gluten free waffles creating great stomach distress over one Thanksgiving holiday.
