Going to A&E instead of waiting on a scope

Hello everyone, I'm on holidays in Portugal at the moment, and my stomach had been playing up BIG time, I've had to miss day trips because of the cramping and the need to be near a toilet! I'm not on any steroids at the moment, I was on prednisolone and that seemed to help but my GP wanted me off them so they don't mask anything once I get my scope, which is supposed to be end of July. I really can't wait that long being in this much pain, and my mum has said next time I start feeling discomfort she will just bring me to A&E and I can play up my symptoms so that they do my scopes sooner. Would this work? Or am I better off waiting till my appointment?

You are better off contacting your consultant or IBD nurse and saying how bad things are and they will expedite your scope.
Unless you need admitting, a&e cannot arrange scopes, they have to go via your GP or gastroenterologist.

Focus on the number of times you are needing the toilet in 24hours and whether you have a temperature and fast pulse etc. (looking at your sig you have ulcerative colitis).

I presume you are back off holiday soon. If you aren't and feel very unwell you should seek help whilst away.
