FINALLY after 6 weeks of waiting, Tysabri has now been approved by my insurance, and I have my first infusion on Friday!!!! I am so freaking excited right now. I'm a bit nervous, but still in a flare up even since the surgery and they are talking remission with this drug for me. We'll see how it goes! oh, and the best part of it all, its about 7300 bucks a month, and my insurance is covering the ENTIRE cost!!

doing the happy dance!

Congrats Manzyb! Glad the wait is finally over and I hope that remission is able to be achieved through this treatment.

That's awesome news! Good things are coming for you and I hope remission is one of them!

This is wonderful news! I'm very excited for you. I hope it brings you lasting remission and that you're doing that banana dance forever, manzyb!

Thank you! Will let you guys know how it all goes. They say that if it isn't working within the first 3 months that you have to stop taking it, so hopefully it will work and work quickly :)

Thank you, everyone! :)

I had my first infusion last Friday, so its been a week. So far I don't feel any different either way. The only thing that I've been struggling with is exhaustion! I thought I was fatigued before from the anemia, but holy cow, this past week it seems to be getting worse and worse!! I mentioned my tiredness to my mom and she asked if it could be the medicine... sure enough, I looked up side effects with Tysabri and the 2nd one on the list was extreme tiredness. :( Man! Like I need more reasons to be tired other than chasing around an almost 1 year old!

Oh well. It is what it is. I think I need to start taking caffiene pills or something to keep me going! I had a B12 shot last week after my infusion, but haven't seen much effect from that at all. I'm still having D between 7-10 times a day, some days more. Still having crampiness and nausea.

They say it can take up to 3 months to work, and its only been 1 week, so I'm not going to get discouraged yet.

Good news re. a new drug to try (sorry, a little late to the party on this one) and I hope that you find relief from both your symptoms and the side effects. Just keep taking it a day at a time.
