MMmmm. My kids and I just split one of those caramel covered apples with the nuts on it. Holy delicious! My belly's gonna yell at me in a few hours. We got a red candy one last week. So yummy. How can I resist?

i love them too, especially the chocolate coated ones... but they always leave the skins on! so they are a no-no now :(

Chocolate ones???That is a first for me!

I love the red candy apples, cant even remember the last time I ever ate one. Would probably suffer and aint worth it.
I used to live near a mall that had the Rocky Mountain Apple Company, and they had at least 30 different kinds of chocolate covered apples - white chocolate, dark chocolate, with nuts, without, Rocky Road...and so on. They were divine.....

You could always go for the ol' Chew and Spit.

Gross and stuff I know, but it works!

There is only one type of candy apple I like. You can find them at Waldameer Amusement Park - its only like a 9 hour drive from here :)

Excellent idea! I've been doing that with concord grapes. Hadn't thought of that with the apples. Thank you, kind sir.

Well it's only 3 hours and 47 minutes from here! I'm on my way!!!

I was there in July - I ate two of them hehehe. Next year I am buying a dozen if they have their buy one get one free deal again!

Im pretty confused like usual I must say. I'm studying the specific carb diet, and it seems every and all fruit is pretty safe. So why are you all worried about the apple and not the other stuff?

Tilt, what people can eat on here is totally different from one another.
I am doing low residue, which means I can't have skins or seeds or nuts.
It's much different from SCD.

Well how do you know which diet to try? It says SCD is 95 percent effective for crohns patients, yet it seems like most people cant handle fruit, which strongly contradicts SCD. Is SCD wrong or overstated? Is it just some random diet that is as likely to work as low reside or something else? What do I eat people!!!

My question is why are you following some statistic?

I watched tv tonight, and they said Pantene will make my hair much softer than other leading brands......

Do you get my point? It is all relative.

I'm trying to cut out insoluable fibers, and the apple skin and core is what would give me issues.

As for what gives me issues that is the ol' chew and spit - Kiwis. Gosh I love Kiwis.

Tilt - The skin of apples bothers me. I am not so sure that any diet would work that well for all Crohn's patients. I think it depends on your body and what it will or will not tolerate. Where did that statistic come from? There are also treatments that claim to "cure" the disease...but medical science says it is incurable. I believe the science.

If you would like to try the SCD diet I say go for it! It may work well for you. The point is all of us are different and what works for some doesn't work for all...that goes for food and meds as well. The disease is just a mystery.

Well I'm not on SCD, but as far as I've read the SCD says to gradually introduce foods in your diet as your gut heals. so at the start of the diet you can only eat fruits like ripe bananas then late introduce cooked fruits and then later try raw ones.... Check the below link for an introduction schedule of foods on SCD:

YUP! I've had 3.
The second two I picked the candy off the outside, peeled the apple, than put the candy back on. I was a messy wreck, but I didn't care. I HAVE to have a candy apple near halloween.
I think I "went" a little faster the next morning, but hey - I was gonna go anyways...

I just eat the candy off the outside..
Raw apple doesn't go well with my intestines.

Happy Haunting everyone!
