Hard time losing weight 6 months after resection

Before I relapsed last year, I was at 160 (5'7" 19M) (after doing weights for 3 months from skinny fat at 147). After surgery, I came down to a really low 140 and back up to 160 a month after my ileostomy reversal (3 months after resection). Here, I made the mistake of using MFP to maintain my calories (I've been an underestimater by 200-300 cals/day for as long as I've used it) and sitting on my ass playing World of Warcraft 12 hours a day. A month later, I was up to 167 and decided to start picking up exercising again (A mix of weights and cardio).

That was 2.5 months ago. I've been going to the gym 45 minutes a day, 3 days a week, walking about 7500 steps/day and cutting my calories down to 1500 a day, but I've been deadlocked at 167 ever since.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Perhaps your body is going to work a little differently with and without its colon in operation pre and post ileostomy, the colon is where most fiber is digested by bacteria and contributes about 15% of daily calories for energy use. Assuming you still have your colon, now post operation you just are probably able to extract more energy from what you eat. does this sound plausible to you?

did you have to take antibiotic for this surgery? They have been related to the development of obesity.

I should clarify that my ileostomy was reversed 2 months after resection. I still have my entire colon. I took antibiotics before the first surgery, but I've been on nothing since.

I'm having the same problem. I have UC and before I had my resection I was weighing 165 and muscular. Since then I have put on more than my share of weight. I work out 5 times a week and unless I do two-a-days and cut my calorie intake extremely low I don't lose anything. My Jujitsu coach has Celiac and said my metabolism is probably slow because I'm malnourished due to my UC. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue?
