Nexium! :)

I only read that it may help with healing ulcers but also you don't digest your food all that well since the acid in your stomach is reduced.

I have 5 refills of this crap (5months).

The urge to go is also much stronger now that I'm on these pills and took others.

Yes I have many refills and use them mostly when I am or was on steroids. I also have a Hiatus Hernia, thanks to pred use. I usually dont stay on them long 6 weeks max. The problem with taking them is you need to up your calcium intake. Ever see the commercial for Tums or Rolaids with Calcium... that is why but they dont tell you that. Crohnies need more calcium and vitamin D3. My pharmacist/owner told me about Nexium.

I was only Prednisone, I remember hearing one doc from the Hematalogy clinic say something about I use that with the Prednisone. But since my doc took me off pred, I wonder why not this too.

I didn't know about the calcium part. On prednisone I knew I needed more calcuim. Ok I wont be taking these for awhile because I have issues with needing calcium since I like to lift weights when I can and I don't want to make my self weaker by taking these.
I will look into Calcuim pills. Thanks a lot of that.
oh and i been on it 7 weeks now. And I have a small frame, so thin wrist. I wouldn't want my bones to break lifting stuff.

The primary role of stomach acid is not really digestive, it is to kill microorganisms. The only real exception to this is vitamin B12 and calcium. If you're taking acid blockers (as I also do) you should use sub-lingual B12 supplements and added calcium. I would really prefer not to take these drugs (I was on the PPI Omeprazole, but now use the H2 blocker Ranitadine), since I do believe the role of stomach acid in eliminating microorganisms is important (why else would we have evolved this way?) but without them, like many people (an increasing number, for reasons that are unclear) I get pretty miserable GERD.

Yep, it's a looong road.
less drugs = more
The minimum that we can get by on, is ideal.

I agree Swirl, and hope you find relief soon.

Thank you!

I went to CVS just now and picked up Calcium 500mg by Nature Made. I also got B-12 vitamin 1000mcg by Nature Bounty and Odorless Omega-3 Fish Oil 1290mg by Sundown $27!

I can't say it helped me neither. I will have to have sit down with my doctor next monday:)
Er doctors gave me these, but my doctor renew them.
