I am 36 years old and have had Crohn's since I was 25. Up until now I've been using diet as the main factor in reducing my symptoms, such as doing the SCD diet, but nothing actually took away my symptoms, just made my flare ups less frequent and less painful. But that all changed after I viewed the short movie "Run from the Cure" by Rick Simpson. I have decided to take hash oil to see about curing my Crohn's. I've been smoking marijuana since I was 16 and find it is the best pain killer there is for my condition. I'm only on week one of the program but will update this forum with any positive or negative signs. Also, if anyone else has used hash oil and found it to be either beneficial or detrimental please let me know.

We've moved your thread to our medical marijuana forum.

I don't think hash oil is going to cure Crohn's Disease, but I do think it may be helpful. I'm quite curious and hope you'll keep us updated.

To anyone else out there who is wondering about the movie he mentioned in his post, you can start it here:

Hash oil ingested is the best way to adminster cannabis for chrones . I get the most relieve from strong edible's and hash oil . It's said to trick your immune system and stop or lessen an attack . I find this to be very true . The next best thing is probiotics I eat alot of yogurt .

How do you proceed to ingest Hash Oil? Or at least.. what are the best options? Does it get you high as of smoking does?

well, I actually put the hash oil into a Gelatin capsule and ingest it. The idea is to take it over a long period of time instead of ingesting a bunch and tripping your lid off. And with hash oil it's easy to ingest too much. I started off with an amount the size of a grain of rice. After a week you can double the amount since the body gets used to it. I'm on week 2 and I haven't noticed any change in my condition other than I sleep like a rock now at night. Oh and I'm definitely Uber relaxed ;) I'll post another update next week.

I'll post another update next week.

any update on the research?
I'm curious, as I've been using edibles for about 8 years as a way to chill out my bowels: eating cookies/brownies for me has the effect of pretty much eliminating diarrhea and slowing down my bowels so i'm only in the washroom about 1/5th the time I usually am. Plus, there's the obvious increased appetite/pain management/stress reduction...

Anyways, curious what's goin on at yer end if you've stuck with it and have an update?

Hey Crankypants, Well I'm one month into my hash oil treatment. I sleep like a rock but as far as it helping with the Crohns I'm not sure yet. I was still having blood in my stool as of a week and half ago, but the blood has disappeared since then and yet to return. But it's hard to know if it's the hash oil that helped or just a flare that has gone away. I think the ultimate test is to have a colonoscopy done after 3 months on the treatment. But I'll let community know any positive or negative reactions. As of right now it's too early to tell.....

oh, and probably good to note the hash oil I'm currently ingesting is made from New York Power Diesel, which is mainly sativa. I have some White Russian on the way which is more of a hybrid Sativa/Indica and some Blue Crystal which is Indica dominant. My next hash oil will be made out of the Blue Crystal to try a heavy Indica type to see if it helps me better than Sativa.

making the oil

hi all, Bluesun i watched the movie too. I made some tincture and i'm using it now, but it taste soooooooooo bad. :0((. Do you make it like the movie? Can i take my tinture and do it in a crockpot??
I'm 71 and Ive had crohns since I was 24yrs old, I,ve had one resection around 30yrs ago, but they left everything in me, so now I'm at the point where they cannot do any other test to me. I also have been on oxygen 24/7 since Feb.. And yes, i'm a smoker of for 61yrs,but I never smoked pot. Bad, real bad.
oldlady

hey oldlady, I made it just like Rick Simpson did. I took a bunch of trim and some good buds and used Hexane as a solvent instead of Iso-Prop or Naptha since it's non polar and doesn't extract all the wax, chlorophyll and other junk. And I reduced the extract in a rice cooker and finally over a coffee cup warmer just like the video shows. But....wicked wicked dangerous and must be done with utmost care so as not to explode and kill you since your dealing with highly flammable vapors. But at the end of the process is beautiful hash oil. My Crohns is mild compared to yourself or others here on the forum so my results may not be as dramatic at first but I figure Marijuana is one of the most non toxic medicines around today and I have nothing to lose by trying it and everything to gain if it works. Plus ingesting it is way better than smoking although there too you need to be careful, because ingesting is much harder to know if you have taken too much or not. Not to worry, taking too much won't harm your body, but you'll definitely go for a trip that will be hard to get off and people have been known to have "freak outs" after eating too much. So if you go this path definitely start off small and work your tolerance up. All the best luck to you oldlady and I would recommend putting the hash oil in a gelatin capsule first before ingesting. That way no bad taste, just down the hatch.

you can make something with food grade vegetable glycerin. you can buy it on amazon. one place that sells it has it certified kosher. put it in the crock pot with crushed bud and trimmings.

Also - you can take the oils and make it into hard candy, whatever flavor you like.

So I completed the 3 month hash oil regime actually a couple months ago but haven't had time to post results till now. I found the hash oil had 3 benefits but nothing that helped my Crohns. The benefits were I sleeped deeper during the night, I spared my lungs from heavy smoking, and I actually lost 2 extra pounds I was carrying. I found I was hungry less and my body went into a state of homeostasis. I had the opposite problem that a lot of Chrons have with weight issues. Maybe because of my pot smoking for most of my adult life weight gain has never been an issue for me, in fact I had gained too much weight over the years and was hovering between 185 and 175 lbs. But after the 3 month hash oil regime I had lost a bunch of weight and that was because mysteriously for my body at least, hash oil made me less hungry till I plateaued at my overall healthy body weight of 162 lbs. I'm 5'8'' and active if it helps complete the picture of where my weight should be as a 36 year old male. I stopped the hash oil regime a couple months ago and my weight has stayed the same even though my appetite is waaaay back. So with that I'm overall pleased, but as a recommendation for curing Crohns as least in my observation it didn't help get rid of it, in fact during the 3 month regime I still had bloody poos. But on my path towards a cure I came across and another method that has kept me flare free and zero blood in stools, and that is I've been juicing now for several months, almost every day using carrot, red beet root and greens, ginger, celery, kale, apples and cilantro sometimes. I drink about 1 mason jar full a day. And THIS has been the most overall beneficial treatment for my Crohns than ANYTHING I've done before. I came across the Gerson Diet in my searches, and found the book on this therapy at the library. This one is also shown to help cure cancer as well as the hash oil. Even though i don't have cancer I'm always looking for any approach that might cure my Crohns. And I can say that ever since I've been juicing my overall Crohns has felt almost completely better, aside from the occasional diarrhea and cramping from eating foods I shouldn't out of weakness. The only drawback is that it gets expensive constantly buying organic produce, but then again my health is worth any amount of money.

Thanks for the update :)

Where do you live? Growing most of the things you mentioned isn't very hard at all. My back yard if full of everything but the celery, ginger, and apples.

I live at 8000ft in the Rockies, so my grow season is very short. But I do plan on building a greenhouse in the next few years which should extend my grow season quite a built, especially if I heat it. My home is already solar powered with an 8.8kw PV system as well as solar hot water system. The next step is food production and this will complete my want for my home to be completely self sufficient.
