So recently I've been in and out of doctor's offices doing blood work and trying to do an IV injection of iron, which didn't work out at all. I had a really bad reaction to it, tight chest, couldn't breathe well, and I just felt weird over all and I didn't even get through the test dose.

As if that wasn't bad, I explained to my GI and his PA that I was worried something was wrong with my adrenal glands because I had been doing some research and I've been suffering with no reprieve. I've had a majority if not all of the symptoms for Addison's Disease that I believe was onset by prednisone. Well they felt like I had no need to be concerned or worried about it and didn't want to run the tests.

This frustrated me to no end because they also wanted me to go on humira! I don't like the thought of steroids much less biologics. So I went to visit my GP, who I trust more than my GI because I've been seeing him longer and hasn't steered me wrong and explained to him what's been going on and he agreed that testing was in order and also said we should test my thyroid and vitamin D levels just to see where everything is at. I finally felt like someone was listening to me and respecting what I had to say! So I did bloodwork this morning and hopefully I will know something this week! Wish me luck :)

Good luck! Let us know how the tests show up. I am sure all will be fine. My docs never contradict with one or the other, probably because they are in the same clinic. Gi's basically know a bit more. But you go with your gut instincts, good idea! Keep us posted.

Hey Toni,

I'm glad to hear that you are finally feeling validated!

:goodluck::goodluck::goodluck:

All the very best,
