Hi everyone,
this is my first post on this forum and I am looking for some background and help really.
I've suffered from what I would call 'stomach problems' for 2.5 years with no diagnosis. I've had a number of tests which include a CT scan, gastroscopy, ultrasound - all with no findings.
Symptoms: severe bloating, red lines on stomach (see picture), inflamed skin, extreme fatigue, brain fog, dark circles around eyes
I started to wake up every morning seriously bloated and unable to focus or do anything, so I started running everyday which seemed to clear me up for half a day or so, wasn't great.
Come Jan this year, I decided to see a nutritionist as the doctors have been telling me for so long nothing is actually wrong with me. So the nutritionist told me I had candida (after 1ks worth of tests might I add) and put me on a special diet to help. This never really helped although I started only eating eggs and vegetables which seem to go through the system very quickly and helped relieve me of symptoms - however if I ate anything else I would be in bed for days.
I went back to the hospital to see a gastroenterology specialist and has arranged for me to have a colonoscopy a week today to see if he can see anything. He did however put me on Budesonide and I was completely symptom free on the Wednesday and Thursday (although did suffer serious insomnia) but felt great. The symptoms are somewhat back now, but I am using a sauna to manage those. I guess with the steroids I am feeling a bit better but no where near permanent relief. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this? I could eat anything again for 48 hours and be free of symptoms.
I was wondering if anyone's story sounded similar or anyone had seen an abdomen become inflamed like mine in the picture.
Also can anyone explain/understand why my symptoms went away for 48 hours?? Strange.
Thanks and I look forward to this forum.
