Hi everyone,

I've just been diagnosed with Crohn's and am so glad I found this forum. I've been sick and off work for about 6 weeks now, but am finally starting to get better with a combination of Pariet, Flagyl, Salofalk and Prednisone. I still have constant pain, but am slowly getting better every day.

It's a bit overwhelming trying to figure out what does and doesn't work for me food wise, and coming to terms with the fact that I will have to deal with this for the rest of my life, but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude and remind myself it could be worse.

Hi Ani Welcome to the forum. Figuring out the diet thing is a personal, trial & error sort of deal. Keeping a diary helps. And you are right, lots of things worse than this

Welcome. Keeping a positive attitude should help in the maintenance of the disease. It's difficult to think about dealing with this for the rest of one's life. But new drugs are being researched all the time and it is possible one could come out in your lifetime that maintains remission or cures it altogether.

Hi Ani,

You feel as I did a few months back when I found this forum. The folks here are so supportive and understanding. It can be daunting as you feel relieved you finally know whats wrong and the next minute you feel overwhelmed with future aspects and concerned. You will get there though and we do all understand. Looking forward to seeing you post more.
