Hello everyone! I am so glad to have found this forum, very helpful.
I was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with Crohns but have had symtoms for many years with docs telling me it was IBS.
I was put on steroids which was the only thing that made me feel GREAT! Of course I could not stay on them. Been through all the common tests blah blah. I have been taking Humira for over a year now and do not think it is doing anything for me. I also take Welchol for the diarrheah which works great.
I have surgery scheduled for Nov. After reading alot of forums I am more scared than I ever was to have a resection! I am even beginning to wonder if I should even have the surgery. Doesnt sound like I will feel any better after surgery than I do now. I have alot of narrowing but I am not in any pain and feel somewhat ok. I am so confused! Should I wait for surgery? HELP!

Hi Neesey-

Is the goal of surgery to remove a narrowed, scarred portion of your small bowel? Just curious. I am also curious what the docs are saying about your infllammation which I assume you must have if humira is not working. I am probably going to be having a bowel resection soon, but I am hoping it will be an improvement. My partial blockages mean I am periodically nausious, tired, puky, and have diarrhea.

Hope you feel better.:ysmile: What things are scaring you about surgery?
