I am a mom that just found out a few months ago that my son who is 28 years old has this problem and so I am praying that you all can tell more more about it and so I also started a support group for Adult Children { older then teenagers } that have this ... so feel free to come and share !!!

If you have any UC specific questions feel free to ask. Symptoms and treatments are very similar to Crohn's, which you have 7 years of experience with, so you should not feel too overwhelmed.

Your husband and son are lucky to have such an involved wife and mother!

Thank you sir ... My son lives on his own so we just hear from him from time to time ... so it is good to hear that there is some more support here for me if I do need it !!!

I am about your son's age and live a very fulfilling life, which is something that usually appeases my mother when I tell her. Do not be surprised if he doesn't talk about all the details, or if his answer to "How are you?" is always "Great mom!", even when the truth is he's in pain. I lie to my mother all the time simply because I do not want to worry her.

Your son is welcome here as well, of course! :)

Thank you so much for letting me know that he is WELCOME here too. But I admit that he is a ...

WORK A HOLIC !!

He works all the time and besides that he lives about 5 hours from home and the only time we talk is Mother's Day ... or maybe my Birthday and besides that he is NOT one who comes onto FORUMS that much so thanks for the thought !!

Karen,
I am thankful to hear that you are so involved in your husband & son's challenges! I was diagnosed at 18 but had symptoms since a child. Know what you are talking about with your son & working. My husband and I have strange hours in comparison to a lot of people. We also have midweek days off. So, chatting with others is a bit of a challenge. If you have questions, I'd be happy to help where I can. Welcome to the forum:)
