Eating less gas producing foods, trial and error to see what makes it worse. Taking gas X to calm it down and if all else fails they have products like stoma stifler and muffler and different products that help dim the sounds.

Is yours fairly new?

If so, you may find it settles down over time.

Mine sounds like a lumberjack all the time...I've learned to embrace it and stopped trying to muffle it. Whenever possible, I blame it on the kids (and if I had a dog, I'd blame it on it too)....lol

I find if I put my hand over it (subtly, so no-one notices) with gentle pressure, but not too hard, it helps with escaping gas noises.

Mine isn't noisy at all, but I have found those fleece tops that have " kangaroo" type pockets at the front, very handy for checking on how full my bag is without anyone noticing, you could also use the pocket to hold your stoma as suggested, without anyone knowing.
