Hi,
I've had a fistula connected to my Crohns for the last 4 years. I have been on Infliximab infusions and azathriprine to try and help with the fistulas. Infliximab has been successful in getting rid of the less developed tracks however I still have the one track running through my sphincter muscles with a seton in place! I have just had an op to have a look and it isn't right to cut out/lay open/plug so the surgeon had a clean of the fistula and placed a new seton. This is now my 6th seton in place in 4 years! Once i have recovered from this Op I was just wondering if anyone could help with the next course of action in terms of treatment? What can I move on/try next to reduce symptoms from the fistula or eventually get rid of it?!

Thanks,

E

I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions for other things to try. I have been advised that the best/most permanent way to deal with mine is a permanent ileostomy, and I'm not ready for that yet!

I have been on Cipro and Flagyl for a year and they really help.
