Hi everyone, I am very new to this, 2 days ago to be exact so I am trying to figure it all out. I have two questions... Can anyone tell me a good Doctor in the Tampa bay area? I have seen two and not impressed with either one. Still undiagnosed and not being taken very seriuosly.


Also does this sound like Crohn's to anyone. I can eat bland meat and eggs and not have symptoms but the minute I eat ANY carb ( fruit, vegs, anything) I have seveve pain and bloating.. Thanks any and all help.

Fruit and veg, especially raw or with skins, can be difficult for Crohn's sufferers to tolerate. Can you eat white foods like pasta? To be honest, pain and bloating sounds like some sort of food intolerance. Do you have any other symptoms that suggest Crohn's? Have you had any tests yet?

Jessi, I don't see what you mean about great Doctor. When I click on the link there are several. Can you be more specific with a name? And do you know from experience or are you just going from the list. Cause I checked the list of all the doctors in the Tampa bay area none have not been reviewed. I want to find a Doctor here locally that People with Crohn's have used and have had good results. can you help me with that? If not its ok. I love you quote by the way! Thanks!

Rebecca I can't eat anything other than chicken or eggs without getting a lot of pain. I can't even suck on a candy to get some sugar because of my pounding headache from lack of carbs. Everything I eat besides meat hurts real bad. I have had some blood work. Suspucios for Crohn's by one Doctor the other Docotor not convinced. so I am trying to find a good doctor or a good test that will tell me for sure. thanks for all your help everything is appreciated!

I was saying that the Doctor Directory itself is great... I don't know any of the doctors in your area personally. We have a fellow Crohnie in charge of posting these up, although anyone can post up their favorite doctors.

Hey TD,

I am also looking for a doc in tampa bay area. I have imflammation in the ileum but the biopsy doesn't show Crohns. I also have perianal fistula but no other symptoms. My GI thinks it is Crohns based on the ileitis and fistula but is not willing to start me on meds since biopsy doesn't show active Crohn's and I am not having symptoms.
