:ybatty: :ybatty: This is my first ever posting on a forum, the reason being is my girlfriend, future wife, had been battling candida and now has crohn's, diagnosed about two years ago. I find it disheartening through many traditional doctors, they're answer is to take a pill and when that pill ives you side effects, another pill is recommended to treat that. it's a useless cycle we won't get into. My girlfriend absolutely refuses to take any kind of steriod,(we have a feeling it was the steriods and antibiotics that really gave her this condition) and I support her. Her family has a long history of cancer and we should all know by now how bad antibiotics really are.
Anyway, we're at our wits end, it seems her condition is getting worse. She has been on a restricted diet for more than two years and its not helping. I have a feeling its spreading to other parts of her system. We're looking for treatment that doesn't involve the above mentioned drugs. We've also done the supplements thing, didn't help but cost alot of money. We are looking for someone who can truely help. We are located in Northern California and also near Northern Nevada. HELP

hi Dan

has your girlfriend had a recent test to see where her Crohn's is, and to what extent her bowel is affected? & does she see a GI regularly?

i do understand the reluctance to use some medicines, and yes antibiotics can cause issues, but they and traditional meds can be life-savers too, so i'm worried that refusing recommended treatment might not be the wisest decision to make.

it is possible to reach remission from active Crohn's with meds, Pen has mentioned some of the often-prescribed ones - it's not always a case of taking one thing, having to take another to counteract side effects etc..

& as Pen has also mentioned, there is a risk of bowel obstruction with Crohn's. i guess i'm just concerned that trying to steer clear of advised treatments might actually be to her detriment.

there is some belief that homeopathic treatment can alleviate the activity and inflammation of Crohn's Disease. this may be something for you both to look into, but i would recommend that she at least remains under the care of a GI, who can keep an eye on her condition.

Hello! I was battling Candida as well and the only thing that helped was an antifungal/steroidal cream coupled with LDN (low dose Naltrexone)... the LDN really took it away.

I use Low Dose Naltrexone for Crohn's. It works for most people and has only short term non serious side effects. It also has several good side effects such as preventing other autoimmune diseases and Cancer.

It works differently than other treatments. It either normalizes or boosts the immune system by temporarily blocking endorphins.

I also was not interested in the standard medications, and luckily this has been working for me. It works for most, but not all people.

Take a look at it and see what you think.
