Hemorrhoid or fissure?

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the detail but I was looking in the mirror and noticed this small grape thing over my anus. It's been for a week and it really freaking hurts. I don't know if it's a hemorrhoid or a fissure. Going the restroom feels like knives and there is bright red blood when I wipe. I've tried creams and warm baths and they aren't helping to well. Also it's bothering my sleep a little. There are times when I'm walking I have to stop because of the pain. Ugh!!

I would guess that it's a hemorrhoid, just because of the shape. Fissures are tears in the lining of your rectum, so they don't usually manifest in a round shape. However, it would be best to get it checked out, especially since OTC methods aren't helping you much. A colorectal specialist or GI should be able to help you out. Keep us posted, and good luck!

It turns out I have a fissure.... ughness the pain!

I had a similar condition, where I was told it was either a haemorrhoid or an abscess. It's best to get a second opinion.
