Hi all my name is Josh. I have had GI problems for almost 5 or 6 years. I was last diagnosed with gastritis which is a crock. So my symptoms are all linked to Crohns. The constant pain, the going to the bathroom, and even the fibroids. I have been dealing with this for so long without an answer or anything that truly helps. I will be seeing a Doc here in a month and I hope he can get the tests needed. I am scared but also relieved. Oh I was also on Accutain and an extremly high dose for over a year.

Welcome...love the screen name!.....hope you can get the tests too...what part of the world are you from?

Hi Josh and welcome to the forum. Have you been diagnosed with Crohn's? Are you currently on any medication? The doc you are seeing is it a GI doc? There is so much support here for you not to mention the wealth of information. Once you have your tests done let us know the outcome. I hope you find the answers to all your pain. Keep us posted. All the best.
Lucy

Thank you all. I am from California. I havent been diagnosed with Crohn's. I have however have been dealing with the symptoms of Crohn's for about 5 or 6 years. The GI I had told me all I had was gastritis but he only did an upper GI inspection. I am not on any medications at this time. I really hope these test will provide me with an answer so I can finally know and find a way manage.

Hope this time they do a colonoscopy so you know for sure if it's crohn's are not. Drinking the prep is way more painful than the scope. Lol

Hi Josh, welcome!! Do you have a family history of IBD?? I have seen the ads for the class action suits involving accutane. Hope you get some answers and some relief soon!!

Thats what I hear. My mother also has a plethera of GI problems and told me all about it. Cant wait for the fun

Hi Josh, and you shouldnt be drinking beer :rof:..just kidding. It is hard to diagnose for IBD,, some people are here for months and still nothing, took me a year so , hang in there. Having a colonoscopy as Lucy says and waiting for the biopsy should tell a bit more. Welcome to the forum :bigwave:

Thank you all for the support, My wife actually told me to find a fourm, she Has HS which is a rare skin condition and told me the fourms have great people and info.

I love a guy that can use the word plethora in a sentence. Welcome. I'm also in California. When I had my last colonoscopy I drank this stuff called go lightly. It's tastes like ocean water and you get to pick a fruity flavor to stir into it. I picked pineapple. I can never again eat anything remotely related to pineapple and now have an aversion to all things Hawaii'n. The prep is not bad until you get almost finished with the last glass and it doesn't want to go down and you don't want it to come up. At that moment it's like you are in suspended animation.

The scope part is a breeze. Good drugs, Nuff said.

Hope you get the answers you you need to get you treated and feeling better.

Ann

Hello and welcome!

It took my doctors a long time to diagnose me... Eventually I had the pill camera and they were able to see all the inflammation and ulceration in my small bowel that did not show up on the 1st colonoscopy.

Good luck :-D x

Oh wow, Accutane! Yes there have been lawsuits all over for that antibiotic being linked to Crohn's. I hope that didn't start this awful process for you, it would be more comforting to know it was just genetics. That's what I tell myself!

I'm new here too and was in the same boat you are. Luckily, i found a doctor who, first actually belived that I was suffering, and then went super agressive with testing. I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, pill cam, prometheus ibd blood test, ultrasounds, and all other regular blood and labs in a matter of two weeks. Individually, the results would have been overlooked by most, but all put side by side painted a crystal clear picture.

good luck and hope you get some resolution soon!

Welcome Josh

The road to a firm diagnosis can be a long one for many people..hope you get one soon and some meds to start you on the road to remission. This damn disease is bad enough enough without dealing with incomplete care. Good luck.

Again thank you all. Its nice to have other people understand your pain. My wife didnt believe me untill just recently, she has a medical background has told me many times she thinks its crohn's. Ive been hesitant to go to a Doc since ive been miss diagnosed a few times but im hopeful now. And have others to talk too about it.

Josh,

I just joined this site yesterday and have been blown away by the people here. Hang in there and try not to stress too much. Soon you will have the answers you need. I lived in SD, and Glendale Ca. I miss that place. Jump on the web and type in Ozone: a wide spectrum healer by Dr Gary Null. Take care, James

Hi Josh and james glad you found the site i am sort of new too great reading and chat and finding friends.

Welcome sandy

Welcome, I just got diagnosed this week after years of being told that they could not find anything wrong. One doc told me I just had a thing called "nervious stomach". I think this has been the worst week getting started on all of the meds, but it is good to know what is actually going on with my body. Good luck with everything and keep us updated.

Well this first visit is to a primary care doc so I can get the referal to the GI. So it might be a few more months before I get an answer. But in the end whats a few months ive been waiting years lol. You all are great thank you for being there for everyone. Its nice to see there are decent people in the world.
