Hi everyone im new and have just joined the forum today :). Im John and my daughter Amy has Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's. Amy has had the big operation to remove her colon and now has a bag on perhaps all her life and she is only 12. So Amy may post here from time to time with questions just like myself.Nice to be part of a community.Hello to you all :)

Hi and welcome I'm so sorry your daughter has this so young it's hard for an adult so I can't imagine how she feels having this. Hope she's getting there and hope your all ok too x

Thank you :) Im taking Amy back to the hospital tommorow.Although Amy had the op around 6 months ago now.She is feeling like she has no energy.Amy is only taking azathioprine.I just wondered if this is normal and her bag is leaking quite a lot too.

Hi I don't think it is normal sorry and certainly not her bag leaking all the time. But see what they say and keep me posted. Are you sure she is making sure that it's stuck on right. A tip for when putting it on hold your hand on it for a few secs that will warm the bag so that it sticks to her skin. Has she been diagnosed with indeterminate colitis? What's her next stage going to be? I've had mine 10 months ago x

Hi and welcome to the forum. Hope shes feeling better now. Would be great to get her involved, there is a strictly under 18s(?) area here for kids who would want to talk to people their own age. Also a FB thread so others can talk about their problems personally.

Apart from that hope you ask as many questions and dont forget to check out the local forum for UK info (NACC have some great info as well)

Also, check out the stoma forum for lots of help on leaks and other issues related directly with bags, skin, stoma diet, etc.

Hello friends,Just a quick update.Amy has been in hospital now for just over a week. She is feeling much better and had an MRI scan today that showed that Amy's intestine was inflamed in parts. The hospital have taken Amy off the Azathioprine and going to find other medication.Fingers crossed Amy is doing well at the moment.xP.S Thanks everyone for the advice and tips :).x

Mixed news, but mostly good! Glad she is doing well. We look forward to hearing from her as soon as she is up to it!
