Just wondering what everyone's either past or current hobbies are if you have any.

In the past fr me, I used to show chickens and rabbits. In chickens I raised two different breeds of bantams, I did standards at one point, but the bantams were so much easier to care for. I had to stop once I graduated high school in 2007 due to there not being any shows around near enough( that wasn't 4-H) I still miss those days. I continued raising rabbits for many years, just recently gave it up almost a year ago. I raised a few different breeds throughout the years, but the one breed I stuck its the whole time were satins. I sure miss the babies and sometimes the shows, but it just got to time consuming not to mention feed is expensive and I had 28 mouths to feed( not including the chickens and other animals!) so feed went quick! I really miss the babies, but unfortunately those babies grow up! I raised rabbits for little over 15 years. Chickens I raised for about 10 approx.

Now I just have chickens and ducks for eggs and I kept 9 rabbits for pets. I'm sadly down to 7 now as I had to put 2 to sleep this past year. One was 14 years old( I had that rabbit since I was 10 years old, and I got him when he was 8 weeks old!) and most recently I had to put down my 7 year old mini Rex because of heart failure and likely cancer. ( saw mass on X-ray and could feel growth on her liver) =(

My current hobby I'm into is something simple now. I recently got really into painting crafts, ceramic type things, figure ceramics, whatever they are called. I find it really relaxing to just sit and paint while listening/watching my TV at night. Nice stress reliever, though it didn't work to well today on that I'm currently super stressed about work. Ugh but this to shall pass!

So I'm curious to what everyone's else hobbies are! Post away!

Oh man.. how fun! You are an artist who makes edible art. Awesomeness! :] I salute you!

I have a few hobbies. I really like sewing. Every year my hubby and I make our own Halloween costumes - I do the sewing and he does anything that requires sculpting (like making masks). Here's our website with photos of our Halloween costumes that we've made (click on the years at the left to see the photos from that year):

I also crochet - I'm working on a blanket now. I also work out daily although I consider that more of a lifestyle than a hobby! :p And I also like to study language - I'm currently obsessed with the Korean language, I love that it has such a simple alphabet.

I can help you with Korean or Japanese :] Or if you are interested in Korean Drama, Movie or Japanese Drama or Movies. Or if you like Kpop or Jpop :] I am an expert. lol

Oh I love crochet plush dolls. lol they are so cute. :] My sister makes them. I can't make them because I have too big of hands. Also no patience for that kind of stuff. lol

I have 3 horses at home, and ride when I get a chance...also enjoy gardening (Mom owns a nursery business too!)....reading and needlepoint when I find the time.

Artisan, I love J-pop and K-pop! Hikaru Utada is my favorite J-pop singer, and Big Bang is my favorite K-pop group. I've watched a few Korean dramas - I liked Iris (except for the ending, which I hated!). I also liked What's Up.

I'm in the pretty early stages of learning Korean - I know a few words and I'm still memorizing the alphabet and figuring out how to stack the characters into syllables and all that stuff. If you have any helpful tips for someone who is just starting to learn, I'd appreciate it! :)

Mine are fishing, hunting, building fishing rods, anything from ice rods to spey rods. Skeet shooting, and big bore revolvers.

Also enjoy construction projects, just put a sub floor in my attic and 300 plus square feel of storage w/ shelving units

I wish wish wish I could get a horse. They are my fav. Animal and I love riding. We recently went to a place called Splendor Farms and I got the gallop of my life. Not many places around here to ride at and the few they have you can't do any more than walk and I love going fast! So I can't wait to go back to that place. Such a huge stress reliever because when you gallop you just forget about anything and everything around you. I'll never forget that. Unfortunately I can't afford a horse. If i could I'd have one in a heart beat!!

Wow you like Big Bang? I like them too. Do you like 2ne1 then? 2pm? Yea I like Utada... she is old school :) Do you like Boa? Or Lar An Ciel? Oh Iris was a good drama. I don't like Iris 2. What drama website do you use? I can recommend lots. =) I can help out with anything.

I am currently trying to learn Traditional Mandarin Chinese. I am also really into computers and web design. After being diagnosed with Crohn's I stopped swimming competitively and needed a new outlet. While video games are fun I had more fun creating something and web design was an easy start. Now I am slowly getting into Objective-C to learn some simple application programming.

Artisan105 and Cat-a-Tonic - if you happen to come across some bands in Mandarin that are similar to K/J-POP I would be interested in hearing about them (Jay Chou is okay but not really my thing).

Artisan: Utada is old school?? No way, that makes me feel old. :p Yes, I love Big Bang! (I have a massive crush on TOP from Big Bang, he's beautiful!) I don't like Iris 2 either. I tried watching it but it was too ridiculous. The first Iris wasn't exactly believable but Iris 2 is even more over-the-top to the point that it's silly. I usually watch K-dramas on Hulu Plus - they have a pretty decent selection.

Bear831: Welcome to the forum! I don't listen to any Mandarin/Chinese pop, so I can't help you there. Learning Mandarin sounds difficult - I'm trying to learn Korean because there actually is an alphabet, so the written language is not difficult at all. I wish I could learn Japanese, but there is no alphabet like with Korean, so you just have to memorize thousands of written kanji characters, and that sounds difficult beyond the limits of my patience.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not surprised you don't know any but thanks anyway. It is an incredibly difficult language to learn as I am finding. The secret so far has to been break characters down into their bases and learn those and use word association (pictographic in this case) to try and Denver a character. It has not been going well. I have a friend who lives in Korea so that language is interesting. I completely forgot Korean had an alphabet, now I wish I was learning that (well, so has every other language I have come across, sometimes I wonder if I hate myself when it comes to learning something).

If you are interested in Korean, here's a good website that I've found with info about the Hangul alphabet and also a lot of phrases/vocab words.

I can imagine Mandarin is incredibly difficult! I wouldn't even know where to begin studying something like that. So far the toughest thing I've found about Korean is that the pronunciation is difficult for me to wrap my head around (I read a comment on the internet that said "Korean is the French of Asian languages" and that seems about right).

Thanks for the link I will definitely check it out if only to satisfy my curiosity. I am starting college in the fall and will be at least minoring in Chinese if not double majoring in it and something else such as business. I was lucky to have a Chinese class in high school but I have had a hard time retaining the knowledge learned.

LOL my bad... Utada is not old school :) Yea that is exactly what I thought about both Iris Series. Oh you can watch them on Crunchyroll.com or Dramacrazy.net :] Yea Chinese is difficult. I tried learning Mandarin from a friend but I didn't want to learn one chinese dialect when there is over 300 chinese dialect. Too much to learn. The 5 levels of pitch is fun :) I would try to say chop sticks but I was saying something totally different. lol.

Japanese and Korean is very similar in the sentence structure, vocabulary, and word spelling. I like both because I had to learn both while growing up as a child. Wow you know Kanji? Most people don't know that. I salute your efforts. :) Get rosetta stone. It really works. I used it to learn Spanish and Greek in college.

Haha ... I know a little bit of Mandarin. The word for chopsticks is a homonym with "fast", but chopsticks is followed with a second word (makes it a noun).

My favorite hobby is baseball (watching not playing - and keeping score in the scorebook) and I also have tried my hand at trading.

This is amazing everyone, I think you should have a special sub-forum to help everyone with their learning :) I'm in awe and impressed, I managed a bit of French and German at school but that was a looooong time ago. :rosette1:

Artesan: Noooo, I don't know kanji. I was just saying it seems really hard to learn!

Still you know what Kanji is :) That in itself is impressive lol. I am glad there are people out there like you who are cultured :) Or open to experience and enjoy other cultures. <3
