How do you know if you have a fissure, fistula or a sticture, sorry for the spelling, Does anyones tip of the tailbone hurt, mine has a little bump which is painfull when i touch it, also i can not sit for a long time? Is this one of this, fissure, fistula , sticture. Thanks again

If you think you have one of them you should definitely call your GI. Does it hurt to go to the bathroom, are you having any bleeding?

Remember to call your GI tomorrow though. Don't let something like that linger for too long because you don't want to go through more than you should have for treatment if you know what I mean. Best of luck

A couple of months ago, I saw my GI again (I've been having regular appointments at least once every month since the fall) and he asked how my fissure was doing -- I said it felt perfectly fine, almost no pain anymore. In fact, I thought myself that it had probably gone away mostly, from the meds I'd been using. He was shocked that I said that, because after checking it out himself, he said it had turned into an ulcer, which is even worse.

So don't just self-diagnose based on feelings, blood loss, etc -- sometimes the GI can look at it and see what you simply can't.
