Just wondering how common or uncommon this is. seems to be a new symptom for me. I've almost always had perfect control over things with very little meds but that's changing it seems. I need stronger meds now perhaps.

I would say mine mostly do now. I'm not sure what. "Normal" is anymore, truly, I've forgotten. I'm just so thankful for days that I feel well, and know that there are days I won't. I try hard not to take the good days for granted.

Mine would float nearly always for as long as I can remember. I probably thought that was normal; it's not something you tend to talk about with others . Since my surgery last year they sink!

It's 20 years since I first had intestinal symptoms but this fact makes me think I must have had the disease for some years before then; right back to when I was a teenager.

It's fat malabsorption I believe.

Honestly mine NEVER float! Ever since I was diagnosed last month and started my medications they sink right to the bottom! It used to be more varied.

However I am a weirdo case because diarrhea has not affected me at all (except prepping for my colonoscopy, of course lol)

They float because they are fatty. It might indicate gallbladder/bile issues.

I too had read about oil presence in the stool when they float but didnt read it was something bad. mine float or sink it varies ( more sinking) and i am fully in remission right now. have you changed your diet in any ways? observe with food intakes. I would not worry if your stools are still fully formed.
