How soon can an abscess grow back

A few weeks ago l had an abscess high up in my rectum that cleared up with iv antibiotics. Just wondering how soon can they grow back?

I still haven't been diagnosed with anything.

If the infection isn’t completely cleared or if there is something else aiding the formation of the abscess, as in fistula, then it could reappear quite quickly.

Do you think it is back?

Dusty from what l know when they went to operate the 5cm abscess had disappeared. I had been on triple iv antiobitics for 6 days and then continued with oral antibiotics for another week. A few days ago l started to get pain when sitting, l'm worried it might grow back.

Were these the same symptoms as last time?

Did they say at that time what they thought caused the abscess?

Same symptoms but not as bad.

The Dr said due to the location of the abscess l'm most likely to have crohn's. I'm having scopes in about 4 weeks.

Yeah l'm ok. If anything l want some answers to why l have a constant pain near my bellybutton, right hip and lower right side back pain. I did have a colonoscopy about 6 years ago and was told it was normal, but no biopsies were done. Now l'm wondering if there had been microscopic inflammation back then.

The location of your pain sounds very ileal in origin. And it does sound like the scopes can’t come soon enough. :ghug:
