In the past 2 years I have had to bowel surgeries. Before my first surgery, my stool was formed but soft, long, and narrowed. Bowel movements were not always pleasant. I could be 15-25min in the bathroom. After surgery #1 in the fall of 08, my stools were bulkier, large and easier to pass. It was a miracle. That continued until I had to start chemo 2 months later. After chemo (May 09), they went back to what they use to be.
Recently I had another surgery and now I still spent 20+ minutes in the bathroom and often have to go back 1-3 times to get the rest of it out. I eat fibre flakes in the morning mixed with Cheerios but I admit my insoluble fiber intake is not the best but I don't want to over do it.
Anyone have any advice to get bulkier stools?
Thanks
