How worried should I be about my abscess?

In the hospital they said my abscess was so small they weren't going to worry about it too much and scheduled a follow up CT in a few weeks. But my doctor said my stress level needs to be like zero. YEAH, LIKE THAT WOULD HAPPEN. Lol. Within 15 minutes of me getting released from my first hospital visit that lasted 10 days, we got rear ended. It was pretty traumatizing and talk about rage, I've never gotten that violent in my life. So using that as an example, things have been way stressful, but there's no way I can help it. I can't just stop school and I can't help that I failed last year and have double courses now. Okay well I'm not going to rant any longer, sorry. Now since this is my first time getting sick I don't know how fast the condition of an abscess can worsen really so that's why I need to know since I figure some of you have dealt with this numerous times and I couldn't find anything on the internet regarding intro abdominal abscesses that was beneficial.

I did experience something weird today, well the past 3 days I keep getting really hot like I'm about to get a fever but it goes away but this morning I woke up with an extreme pressure central lower abdomen that was constant for 3 hours then burned for a few minutes and stopped. Does that kinda sound like somethings wrong? I wouldn't know since this is my first time with all this but I do know specific area pain is linked, I don't remember where the abscess is though and the pressure wasn't really pain, I guess? Just pressure. But not like gas, it wasn't that. It's hard to explain but my mom is thinking about taking me to my GI tomorrow instead of Thursday, my main appointment. My mom wants to know if it's necessary or if we should just wait a few days.

Personally, I would run, not walk, to your GI. I have had these things for many years and trust me it can turn into your worst nightmare if you don't get a handle on it fast. I don't know how long you have had to deal with Crohn's but I can tell you that after 30 years of dealing with it, you need to become your best advocate. If no one listens, talk louder. No one knows how you feel better than you.

And, the hot feelings you are experiencing...not a harbinger of good news, so you need to pay attention to it.

Not trying to scare you, just letting you know not to take this stuff lightly. It can be handeled if you get on top of it.

Good luck, and let us know how you are doing. Will keep you in my thoughts.

I called my doctor a little while ago and he told me to wait until Thursday unless I feel that again, which I didn't today. Today was a good day : )

And yep I'll probably post about my appointment on Thursday

"Personally, I would run, not walk, to your GI" I agree with jkd1111. I would get it looked at as soon as possible. I have had 5 in the past and they don't go away over night, they are unconformable and sometimes painful. I would nip it in the butt and get it looked at as soon as possible
