Been doing the pen injections for a couple of months or so now and each time it's not hurt too much and the liquid's gone in fine, did it today (well I hold it my sister pushes the button) but tonight it felt like the needle hit a nerve or something then I felt the liquid running all over my stomach so I pulled the pen away, also the injection site swelled up immediately about 1/2 cm in diameter.

Did I do it wrong?

Really bummed out now, thought I'd got the hang of this whole injection lark.

That same thing happened to me few times. I thinks i somehow didn't push the pen near enough my stomach and cringe littlle because it hurts and the medication did'n get deep enough so it make a swelled "button" in my stomach and the med running all over my stomach.

No i make sure that my hand doesnt move at all when i do the Humira, and that hasn'e happened again.

(it's hard to explain that in english but i hope you understand) :)

My wife gives me my injections, with the pen.If I am to tense I will pull back when I hear the click.I have been using my tablet with head phones, playing relaxing music to help get ready for the injection. That has really helped.I no longer have a lot of medicine not go in.

I was meant to get the first loading dose (4 pens) done by nurses so they could show me what to do. Unfortunately they hadn't used the pens before so I ended up showing them how to do the injection after one of the nurses pushed the button on the first pen too soon and it sprayed onto my stomach instead... So don't feel too bummed out, it can happen to anyone :)
