Hi folks.

I am just curious if humira is supposed to help heal and open strictures, or just stop the inflammation and further deterioration? I am confused by the info on the "sticky" that says something about humira making them worse if there is scar tissue.

Any knowledge about this would be great!

I had a stricture while on humira and it did not fix it. As far as I am aware nothing will fix a stricture that is from scar tissue except for surgery or dilation.

Humira did help with inflamation when I first started on it. It was great!

Hi Adam, I have a 10cm stricture, which was down to 5mm a while ago. Because iv had 70+ cm recsected before, I didn't have surgery for it, and when I started having obstructive symptoms recently, because of inflammation, I asked on here even, can anything but surgery be done. It's like Manzy said. Dialation is supposed to work well for many though, and they have stricture plasty as well. I'll be on humira to reduce the inflamation, then even if it's only 5mm, it should be fine as long as I don't have massive bits of raw carrot, or radish. Radish sent me to emergency once with an obstruction :/ anyway, hope it helps. :)
