First, I'm sorry if I am posting in the wrong section
Now, my story. I'll try and keep it short. It started Thursday the 9th. I was at work, I was actually feeling pretty good. I was getting hungry so I took a break and ate a sammich. 30 minutes later I feel a funk in my stomach, I go to the bathroom thinking I have to have a BM, but I thought wrong. It came up the same hole it went down. So I left work early, went home and did what everyone does after they puke. I went to sleep. Didn't eat anything that night.
The next day (The 10th) I went into work again, armed with some gatorade, and about half way through I started getting really light headed. I told my boss I needed to go sit down, he told me I was ghost white. I went and sat down and everything went blank for a second. I won't say I passed out because I didn't hit the floor, but it was more than just standing up too fast and your vision going blurry. I again left early and this time went to the hospital. They drew some blood, hooked me up to an IV and eventually I was told this. I was dehydrated, I was anemic (he said I was at about 9, when I should be at 11 or 12), and also said my blood cells seemed a little on the small side, but everything else checked out fine. He suggested a clear liquid diet for a few days and slowly add in a normal diet. When I got home, I ate some chicken noodle soup (despite what he said, I was starving. It was almost 30 hours since I've eaten). I had some bread with the broth, at the noodles, and a few small pieces of chicken.
So for the next 2 days it was water, tea, popsicles, and a little bit more soup (which ended up being mostly drinking the broth). I wasn't feeling much better, but knew I had to get some real food in me. So my mother suggested I eat some eggs, so thats what I tried on the morning of the 13th. 2 scrambled eggs went down, and about 30 minutes later, 2 scrambled eggs came back up.
I ate a small handful of saltine crackers last night (maybe 8-12) and they stayed down, and a few more this morning. But I can't live off those for awhile. Which is why I'm kind of at a loss.
Where do I start? I was thinking about getting some chicken broth and just heating it and drinking it. Sounds delicious and at least has some nutrients in it. However, it's not real food.
I said I would try and keep it short, but details are important. I've got a appointment on the 24th with my GI doctor, but I don't think I can live off saltines and chicken broth for the next 10 days...
