Hi Everyone,
I was hoping that some of you my be able to help me... I know that I should be seen by a DR. but I have no insurance (since Sept.). I know I am having a flare. Today I tried to have a BM and it was a bit of mucus like stuff, blood clots and then plain old bright red blood. Not to mention the horrible pain in my lower left side (the pain started out in lower left back right above the hip. In May of 2010 and I spent a week in the hospital, was doing the Remicade treatment for about 3 months and felt no difference. I remember my GI said that if this didn't help the next step would be surgery. Well, 2 weeks before I was to go back to the GI I lost the insurance.
Sooooooooooo I have recently applied for temp. disablity just to get some insurance through the state. They still have about 2 weeks til they have to give me an answer. That's why I am tring to Hang in there until then. But in the mean time I am in a lot of pain (some are new spots). Every time I eat I feel like I've been riding a roller-coaster (and trust me....I love to eat (I'm NOT a skinny Crohn's sufferer by any means)). And now I am pooping blood.

There is plenty more I could go on about but I don't want to come off as a complainer. I really do suffer in silence alot.

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. is this guy rolling on the floor in Pain or is he Laughing.:rof: Maybe I just think it's pain cause that is a little like what I feel.

I am so sorry that you are in such dire straits., and hope someone can give you the help you need.
Is it not possible for you to be treated in an ER and for your government to be billed?
Surely someone is there to give you much needed help.
I do not live in your country so I don't know what is immediately available when someone does not have insurance through no fault of their own.
I am sure someone else on the forum may be able to advise you soon.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha

You need to move to uk!!! We all moan about our national health service but you will NEVER be turned away or not treated cos you didn't have the means to pay!
Iread a lot about ensure??? Liquid diet with all nutrients. It would give your insides a rest but its not a cure.
I really do not understand your health system!
Good luck, hope you feel better soon

Could you possibly get a prescription for some prednisone to tide you over until the dr appt?...that is inexpensive, and although an evil drug to many, it may help you until you get back to the doc....

I am in a similar situation. I actually did go to the ER they said go see a GI specialist and get a colonoscopy. I have been bawling ever since, guess I'm going to have to wait for the medicaid to kick in (god knows when it will.) He primarily told me drink gatorade everday (I am passing out now, he says it's because my body isn't holding water anymore and becaus of my intestines in there current state I am expelling it to fast, and throw in the bleeding)and take some acidophulus. But there was NOTHING the ER could do. *hugs* I feel for you, trust me I do.

Unfortunately I don't have any advice for but I'm sorry you have to go through this. Its not fair to make anyone suffer like this. Regardless of their insurance situation. I hope you find some relief soon and don't ever hesitate to ask us for help.

I did not have ins. for years. I have found that most big cities have county hospitals that offer free care. The hospital will have to verify your residence and income, but meanwhile they should give you the medical attention that you need :hang:
