If you have NO pain is it likely you have not got IBS IBD or Crohns?

Basically I have no pain, most of the time, Ive had abit of pain in and around my stomach area twice, one was worse than the other But after I went to the toilet the pain went away.

Hiya Venny

I haven't got any pain, none whatsoeva!
But I've still got Crohn's and nearly died cos of it 2 years ago, prior to that hospital trip I was doing ok on just Pentasa.
It's an unpredictable bitch!

REALLY? I thought that was on of the main symptons. What symptons did you have?

Hiya Venny

I've just read your story thread, sorry I missed you! Big Hello!
My symptoms have always been mild, I don't bleed, rarely do I have other mainfestations such as mouth ulcers etc but...
I defo have Crohn's!
And no, I don't have any pain, and I'm eating what ever I want but.........
I'm not gonna become complacent, I know it's there, I can feel it, It's a hard lump in LRQ
At the mo, it's happy and not inflamed, hence no pain.
Only a matter of time before it kicks off again!
And, I need to say, I have diarrhea on a daily basis, that's the norm for me, always has been. And to be fair, I eat crap! So that's why.
But my Crohn's is dormant at the mo.
Hope I'm making sense, I'm tired!

Oh and Venny, IMO Crohn's is inflammation
Diarrhea and whatnot are symptoms, which can be reduced by diet, but inflammation can't be controlled by diet, in my opinion

Hey, my dr felt my stomach area and he couldnt feel anything

i have no diarrhea and no pain. each person body is so unique like that. inflammation is what makes the different btwn IBS and IBD.

Venny when I flare I'm floored!
And the pain?
You'd have to scrape me off the ceiling if you touched me!
My pain is in the LRQ, not anywhere else when I flare.
A flare (for me anyway) is when that LRQ area swells with inflammation. I can feel it, it bulges.
Then it radiates round to the lower back and hip.
xx

I also don't get pain day to day, or diarrhoea (only if I eat something that irritates my insides). But like Astra, pain was my main symptom when I flared- the doctors would do that rebound test where they press on then take their hand away quickly. I screamed, and they asked 'did that hurt?' and did it again!

Oh thank you for this, I havent got/had any unbeearable pain, Ive had pain before I went to the toilet, and after it went away.

I had pain so bad it was unbearable lots of times, but that's before I was diagnosed and treated. Right now today i'm feeling the best i've ever felt. Watch your diet big time and you should be ok? but everyone's body is different.

I am 40 yrs. old and was recently diagnosed with Crohn's Ileitis with mild inflammation and ulcerations of the illeum during a colonoscopy. I'm scheduled for a pill-cam enteroscopy later this month. I have never had any pain. Not even the slightest ache or cramp. My symptoms included a gradual, unexplained 30 lb. weight loss over the past year, 4 - 5 episodes of loose stool per week, and somewhat low on B12. I started on Budesonide, which started working after 2 weeks. I've gained 2 pounds in the past week so far!! Yeah!! (NEVER thought I'd be excited about gaining!!), and no need for Imodium anymore. I have plenty of questions for my Dr. and would like to know what to expect in the future. Has anyone had a similar experience with their diagnosis/symptoms?
