I have had crohn's for a month so I'm still trying to find my feet. Every day seems like I get something else cropping up it's crazy and very fustrating ( headaches, night sweats, tired all the time, what to eat and what not to eat, insomina, anemia). I'm also a diabetic so looking for the right food to eat so will need all the help I can get please. Must say I'm feeling very sorry for myself but I have alot to be thankful as my DR say's I had lost so much blood he thought that I was not going to make it through the night and 5 days later I walked out of hospital. I'm also very blessed to have a very supportive man and a lovely 13 month baby( which I feel so bad as I'm tired all the time to look after properly thank goodness for granny's). So were to from here ....

I feel for you...hang in there. I felt the same way at first. I felt like my whole life had been turned upside down. I read tons of information trying to find out more about the disease and it all became very overwhelming. I would say don't go overboard with that...it will just freak you out. Try to take it one step at a time. I too had night sweats, lost 40lbs, hair loss, racing heart rate, vomiting, diarrhea, tiredness, anemia...you start to feel like your body is shutting down on you.

As for the food situation, I am not diabetic so I cannot help you there, but I do recommend you keep a food diary. Note the foods that make you feel worse or that you cannot tolerate. Then you will know what to stay away from.

Glad to hear you have a supportive family. Good luck! This forum is a wealth of information. Not only will people give you advice and personal experience stories they can point you to some really good resources of information too.

Hi and welcome! I understand what you mean. When I first was diagnosed, it seemed like something new cropped up every week: back pain, chest pain, rectal pain, etc. But, to be honest, I think the stress and anxiety of getting my diagnosis caused a lot of these symptoms. It took time, but once I stopped dwelling on my disease so much, I started to feel a bit better. Of course, finding the right combo of meds helps, too!

I sure hope you start to feel better soon, so you can thoroughly enjoy your little one. Hang in there!
