:welcome: Sookie. Asacol is a common and mild to moderate drug to keep the inflammation down. You must be in alot of pain to be on Perc's. Can you tell us more about you?

Yes im in alot of pain and even with the Asacol im still seeing alot of blood in my stool. What else do u wanna know about me? I see my GI again on the 21st

Ok now I see where you are from. Are you male or female? Do you have support. I think you are 31?. Asacol maybe not strong enough for you but I dont have UC I have CD, but my sister and brother have UC and they are both bleeders and I am not. Hope your GI appt is good.

Hi Snookie31, I think Pen was wondering about your life in general. What do you do, what is you age. Any hobbies etc. You said youve just been diagnosed, how did you find out, what are your symptoms. Have you any questions you would like helping with.

It just helps us get to know people on the forum and hopefully get better answers to your problems.

I started on Pentasa (much like asacol) to start off with. Docs normally give a month or two to see how you repond to that before putting you on stronger drugs. Have you tried peppermint tea for belly pains? It helps me (and a few others on this forum). Welcome to the forum

Ohh okay. Well im 31 and im not working right now. I keep myself busy with getting invovled with my church. I was diagnosed after they finally did a colonoscopy. Also my doctor keeps telling me my potassium is low

Losing potassium is common and if you drop too low it is dangerous and having an IV of straight potassium hurts like hell. We tend to lose Vitamin D3 too.
