Today I was feeling pretty hungry and had a great big appetite, so I figured it meant my body was telling me it's ok to eat. So I ate. Possibly a little too much.

Oh my gosh, I regret it now. I am in so much pain. I actually started crying because of the pain. My entire abdominal area is in cramps. First it was in the lower right hand side, now it's just everywhere.

I have a big Russian exam tomorrow, it's my final. And, I really need to study. I just cannot focus with pain like this, but I know I have to. I need to do well on this test, so I'm trying to just ignore it as best I can but it's proving to be very difficult.

I'm not sure why I'm posting this, maybe just because I feel like I can complain here about my pain without annoying anybody like I might annoy my friends if I constantly complained. Maybe I just had to share with someone!

Anyway...thanks for reading :frown:

Awww, happyballerina, sorry to hear you are having a rough time... :S A lot of us have been there, for sure; I know where you are coming from. Be sure to keep drinking water so you don't dehydrate, and try to rest as best you can. *hug* and good luck!

If you don't have any Bentyl or Hyomax on hand...you can try a run of the mill antihistamine. They have a similar anticholinergic effect. As you studying, stay away from Benadryl, which will make you sleepy.

Happy ballerina, I really feel for you. Overeating is my #1 biggest trigger, I feel so horrible for days on end when I eat too much. When I feel okay and have an appetite, it's really tempting to just eat a few more bites, but every time I do I really pay for it! I hope you're able to study somehow and get through this. Good luck on the exam!

Hey guys, an update: I am feeling a lot better. No pain now -- at least not when I'm doing nothing.

I have a question, I was going to the bathroom but just #1 and I thought I might have to go #2 but I didn't, but my question is, when I pushed to try to go #2 it DID hurt, I think it was mostly in my lower abdomen. I know this happens to be quite frequently. Does anyone know what this is? Why it hurts when I do that?

"Funny" thing, we're under a tornado watch here with some possible touchdowns in some counties not too far from here, and we're down in the basement and will probably sleep here, at least until the tornado warning is over at 2am, and I was thinking how terrible it would be to have to go while taking cover...can you imagine?! Haha, just had to share that. :ybatty:

I forgot until now what helped me with pain was raw ginger root. Chop up and smash into hot water as a tea. I totally need to gets some of that again!

Swirl, that sounds interesting. It's too bad I don't have any now! I'm in major pain again. It's almost unbearable.

I had two luna bars and black coffee during the day (just what my final exam and ballet class schedule allowed me to eat today!)

At ballet I was hurting pretty bad. Now it's even worse!

I ate a few bites of mashed potatoes, a small piece of chicken tenderloin, a small handful of cashews, and a few tortilla chips. Oh, also a few orange slices. This was all kind of just grabbed as I walked past the kitchen on my way to the shower or while watching TV. I tried eating my "real" dinner, salad and toast w/ cottage cheese, but it's just sitting here.

I wish I could go out to the store to get some fresh ginger so that I could try your trick, swirl, but I'm just not up to leaving the house right now because I'm hurting so bad. I think I'm going to lay on the couch and watch TV and try to ignore it.

Three more days until the colonoscopy, it's on Monday, and I'm VERY much hoping I get a diagnoses and get some relief, because I'm just getting worse every day like this.

If you do have Crohns, coffee, cashews, tortilla chips, orange slices, salad and cottage cheese (dairy), can all be big no-nos when you are flaring. The coffee and nuts can cause a lot of pain especially.

If you can get to the store, or have someone who can go for you, you should get some Ensure, and stick to that and and maybe just a liquid diet until you get your colonoscopy if you can stand it. Hope this helps at least a little.

I'm sorry you are having so much pain. I hope you get your diagnosis soon!

If I had pain I would do a heating pad. Not a regular one, but one you can hold the button and it gets hot till you let it go. These tend to be moist heating pads and used a lot by chiropractors (that is where I purchased mine). These allow the heat to penetrate deeper. Just be careful when using this, since there have no real heat control they get REALLY HOT. I cook eggs on mine a lot, KIDDING.

Also, you can try a nice hot bath - works sometime. If not at least you are clean :)

Pain sucks and sorry you have it, they give me diluadid to take, which there is a lot of different thoughts on and need to be careful NOT to get addicted, but it helps me through the bad times.

Keep your head and toilet seat up, it is all you can do

Poor girl! The tortilla chips and oranges would have sent me over the edge if I was flaring-up. I understand though. I still have a hard time staying away from foods that hurt me. Have you tried ginger tablets. In addition to the medications for the CD, I sometimes find relief from the nausea, indigestion, and even cramping with ginger.

Good luck with your finals! I hope you feel better soon.:getwell:
