I've written here multiple times about my abdominal pain. It just keeps getting worse and nobody knows what is wrong. I have a sharp, stinging, burning pain behind my belly button and just to the right of it on my abdomen. It is now spread to the right side of my lower back. Just had my liver and pancreas tested last week, nothing abnormal. I had a colonoscopy last month and it looked great. Had an MRI in May that looked good and my primary doc ordered a CT scan a couple weeks ago and it showed nothing. My GI says it is not related to Crohn's and it may just be my abdominal wall. I tried lidocaine patches and even got a lidocaine injection, but neither felt like it got deep enough to touch the pain. It is constant and has been going on for a year. They found a very small hernia and I had it repaired in July. That literally did nothing. I had a repeat ultrasound a few weeks ago and there is no reoccurring hernia.
I have also struggled with costochondritis. I'm having more of a localized pain in my chest now, rather than it being spread out, and it moves up to my jaw. I had a flare of this last month and was sent to the ER to check for a clot. Everything was normal. All of the pains I'm having are on my right side.
My only other new symptom is a low grade fever (99.4-100.7) for the last 15 days. Neither my PCP or GI seemed worried about it.
I feel like I'm going insane. My abdomen hurts and it is tender to the touch. I can't lay on it and it is just constantly burning. It is affecting my sleep. I'm going to try physical therapy again, but am not able to get in until November. My primary doctor also referred me to a pain specialist. I just hope they try to figure out what is wrong rather just treat the pain.
I have a second opinion scheduled with another GI in 2 weeks just to be sure. Figured it can't hurt to make sure it really isn't my Crohn's.
Has anyone else had pain like this? I am sinking into depression because of the constant pain and the fact that nobody knows what the hell is going on. I like my doctors and I know they are really trying their best, but it is hard not to feel frustrated and resentful about not getting answers, even when they are trying everything they can think of. Is there anything else I should ask my docs to check into?
As far as meds, I'm on 200 mg Azathioprine, 10 mg Lexapro, 5,000 units Vitamin D, and the birth control pill.
Thanks for listening to me vent.
