Anyone else have a story?
I live on the first two floors of a brownstone. The family who lives on the top floor decided to leave their apartment in the evening and run errands while they were emptying the water out of their 100 gallon turtle tank. Their system was to siphon it by running a hose from the tank to their kitchen sink. They have cats.
While they were gone, the cats knocked the hose causing water to run all over their floor. Then gravity took over. Water came gushing down the walls into my basement all over the floor and pouring out my walls. Lord knows the kind of nastiness in that water too.
My other neighbor ended up calling FDNY so we could break into their apartment to stop the madness.
I hope they have good insurance because the repair bill won't be small.
Dumbasses.
PS Thank god it didn't happen the night before when I was pooping my brains out for my colonoscopy prep.
