I was at the doctors today after severe pains but not like the normal pains i get. My heart beat and blood pressure was sky high. After a urine test the doctor said there was protein, white blood cells, blood and i think she said calcuim (could be wrong). She said its an infection. Is this common with having IBD or is this something different? Was just handed more pills :ybatty:

Before I was put on immunosuppressants/biologics, I found I would be so immunocompromised anyway from being in flare, so I would get infections constantly. So if you aren't treated properly, that may be why you're getting infections. After being put on medications I got sick much less -- I think only once since a year and a half ago, and I caught that from my SO.

Im only on steroids just now but to be honest they aren't doing very much. Luckily i have an appointment with my IBD nurse on Tuesday to start new medication. I seem to get a lot of bladder/urinary track infections and was just wondering if its related to my UC or if it was something i was doing.

Yeah, steroids are generally just considered short-term treatment, though I think I remember you posting about being on Pentasa before and having issues with it? But yeah, those infections may be a result of active UC. I hope you get put on better treatment soon!
