Your eyes and ears

Hi. I need a (real) friend who knows the Cleveland Ohio area for intimate advice about the place. I have a problem with my Jpouch that normal Jpouch colorectal surgeons don't see....that's probably going to require me having the whole thing redone...ug...and so I got to go to the Cleveland Clinic. The problem is that I live in Massachussets and know nothing at all about Cleveland or even Ohio. (Long story why I'm moving instead of visiting, that I'm sure you don't want me to go into)

Anyhue, I'm on disability and have a section 8 voucher and so the trick here is figuring out WHERE the best place for me is. I really don't want to live in the city but I need to be where I can get to and from the Clinic for probably multiple surgeries, on my own.....and of course I'll need specific things close to me, and really prefer to be somewhere that makes me happy.

Believe it or not, I've been looking, there's no organization that will give me just everyday information (like what's a town or what's a city, or how big a place is, or how expensive or run down an area is, etc.) that any Clevelandite would consider just stupid commonsense information that everybody knows.

I might be out of commission for as much as half a year, (if it's two surgeries) so I REALLY can't afford to make any mistakes but I'm totally flying in the dark. Is there anybody here who could help me....or know anybody who could help me.....or at least send me in the direction of an organization or an individual who'd help? I need to move soon and I feel like I'm about to make some huuuuge mistakes so I really appreciate anything I can get.

Thankyou. :)

I can't help with you your Cleveland, Ohio dilemma but i at least wanted to pop in and say hello. I hope that whatever ails you can be rectified soon and your recovery easy.

Thanks Lisa....unfortunately it can't.....this surgery is all I got. If it doesn't work I'm screwed. But whatever. Thankyou for the kind words.

Thanks Sarah. To tell you the truth I'm not sure. All week I've been joining groups left and right....lol. Years ago there was like only a small few groups a Crohns/Colitis person could join, but now they're all over the place. I haven't gotten much of a response here but slowly people are getting back to me in other places. All of us though are dealing with so much at once and I really don't want to burden any one person too much. I will use this link. Thanks for it. I did get another link to the Ohio chapter of CCFA....not sure if it's the same place.....but I'll check it out. :)
