Hello, I was DX with CD Nov 2010, but had my first flare almost 4 years ago. At that time the Dr I was seeing told me it was my Galbladder, but the surgian wont take it so I quiet going. Until I got really sick one night and got a new doctor who actually worked with me until he DX me. I am on no meds at this point.
My main question is about flares. Once a month i have a couple hours of total pain, then it goes away. Then at least once a day I have cramping that last only a couple minutes. So am I still in the flare or not? My doctor is on vaccation and unable to get the answers I want.

I would have to ask some questions to see if thats a flare..are you having any other symptoms right now?

Is it possible that could be a stricture and or blockage? If so you should get to the hospital. Is the pain bad or manageable?

Hope you start feeling better and welcome to the forums.

Yes I second what Nica said be careful and if the pain gets too severe or intense get yourself to a doctor. I used to have a lot of pain regularly and that was because I was begining to narrow because of the inflammation. Best of luck and hope you get some relief and some meds soon to help you out.

No the pain is no where near as bad as the night I went to the hopsital and the CTshowed I was almost totally block. Last week when it lasted a couple hours it was an all over pain of abodomen, it was a burning pain, and had nausea with it. I couldn't link it with any food as all I ate that day was left overs. Had no problems in the days earlier with the food. The cramping pain is like menstrual cramps (in the same area) and this happens almost daily at around 3:00-3:30 in the afternoon.

I would call my doc on monday morning with that going on. Maybe do only clear liquids for the rest of the weekend.

I know when Im flaring there is absolutely no pattern with symptoms due to food. Some things eill affect me intensely one day and nothing the next. Its very possible your flaring and I have no experience with mestrual cramps but from what I describe to my girlfriend she says they appear to be the same. Are you having other symptoms like D or constipation?

I would say that most of the time crohn's pains are more like labor than Cramps. But yes it is in the same general area. The once a day at 3pm is what makes me think something else is going on. By chance are you not eating anything till later in the day?
