While I was at the ER they gave me a small amount of Vicodin, I'm scared that this will constipate me, or make me go through withdrawals, I already feel like poo (no pun intended!!) ,and I don't want to make the situation any worse.
I took it for a bit last year with no issues. Just didn't do much for me and was upped to Percocet. Definitely didn't constipate me, would have been nice not to be in the bathroom so much last year.

I'm just looking at taking one around bedtime, hopefully it won't wire me out or anything. I've learned that a good book or a Nintendo DS is your friend on those long days/nights stuck in the bathroom. That or I play "how many tiles are on my floor, how many scars do I have on my knees or.. you get my point". I think next time I go to Home Depot I'm getting myself some uber padded toilet seat, we've got just the standard leg numbing kind, then again I don't think they designed these things for people who spend half their life on 'em.
Careful about those padded ones. Cheap ones tear easily and then all sorts of bacteria can grow in the foam that gets exposed. Blech. The tile game gets boring.
As for Vicodin, I've never had a problem with it. You could always take half and see how you do.
Another note on the padded seats...once they DO tear....owwwwyyyy!!! Sharp little things stick into you...like you don't have enough pain around there anyway...lol!
As for the Vicodin, I have not had to use anything stronger than a T3 once in awhile... but I like Crabby's advise...start with a half a pill and see how it goes!
i had a tough time last year with the vicodin, but that was before i was prescribed bentyl for the stomach spasms i have. I had pain issues that vicodin, perc and others did not impact. i took vicodin like it was candy and still was in horrible pain. i ended up with a very rough weekend coming off of it but was taking more than the prescribed dose as my pain level was so high. If you are to use them short term and follow the dose as prescribed you should be fine.
I am not diagnosed and I do feel like Vicodin slows my bowels down...kinda the same effect as pesto-bismol on me... but worse. I am scared to retry it...but it does help my pain
