Hello All,
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease a while ago and haven't really had any conditions with it. I take Cimzia once a month and it's fine. However I was starting a juice diet and I wanted to see do you think it will affect my Crohn's at all? It's only 5 days. Please advise.

You might see an increase in diarrhoea, and some issue with the absorption of fat soluble vitamins.

Chances are that this will also be a very low calorie diet (VLCD), as such you will need to increase your water intake to a minimum 2 litres (64 fl oz) in addition to whatever you are drinking, this will help to avoid the possibility of kidney stones that can happen with a VLCD. 5 days won't be enough in theory to cause stones, but it is better to be careful.

What types of juices are you drinking? How long are you planning to juice? If you are a beginner, 5 days is a lot.

Most importantly, why are you juicing/what are you hoping to accomplish by juicing? Are you in a situation where your body will not accept regular food well?

A little more information will help in providing you adequate advice.
