I'm headed to a BBQ soon and I have had awful abdominal pain since the morning.

Atleast I can look forward to people faking concern. Yay.

Here's what I anticipate:

People: you look great! How are you feeling?
Me: thanks, so so, it's a constant battle.
People: so you are cured now right?
Me: no its chronic, surgeries and meds aren't cures.
People: I'm so glad it's over now.
Me: yep.

Sigh.

I feel ya on that one, headed to a bbq soon myself and I have no desire to eat or drink anything. Thats going to cause for questions.
I hope that you have fun, despite peoples ignorance

In my opinion it's better to pretend you're better than listen to their fake, ****** sympathy. Let them think there's nothing wrong if they refuse to understand.

I hope the 4th gatherings went o.k..My family 'forgets' to invite me to gatherings...I seem to make them uncomfortable for some reason. They didn't visit me in hospital after my resection...so a bbq invite?...what was I thinking.

I'd put up with stupid questions, because stupid questions would mean I'm with them.I feel like they have written me off...Independence Day,huh? I think my independence day was seven months ago, after my resection and diagnosis.

Sorry for the 'woe is me' attitude.I'll be back to a positive mindset in a little bit and appreciate what I have, and not dwell on what I don't.
