I have a son with Autism. I usually try to walk in the Autism speaks walk. I wanted to walk this year. I cant.... the joint pain in my hips has gotten so bad that if I tried a 2 mile walk, even self paced, i would be confined to my bed for days afterwards....

Its a minor thing and intellectually I know that... but Im having a Why Me, Its Not Fair moment.

I'm sorry to hear it, I'm sure that's disappointing. I don't suppose you'd be able to go to the walk and just sit somewhere along the route and cheer people on? I feel for you, I have arthritis in my hips which is sometimes very painful as well, and high-impact things like running & walking seem to be the worst for me too. Can you ride a bike without pain (or with less pain than walking)? Personally I can ride a bike without pain, it's low impact and it seems to be easy on my bad hips. I know we're all different though so that may not be an option for you. At any rate, I hope you're able to participate in the walk in some way even if you aren't able to actually walk in it.
