So I'm new to the forum and thought I'd talk a little and ask a little. I've had Crohn's since I was 14, and I'm 19 now so its been a good long while. I've gone through the all of the different drugs, ended up on immunosuppresants, which causes a whole host of other issues, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The most annoying thing though is exercise, Crohn's has that habit of getting itself in the way, any advice for that or is it just a lost cause?Or does anyone just generally have any good advice they're willing to share?

Hi Erin, welcome. I love to exercise, and I can totally empathize with how frustrating it can be when you want to exercise but just can't due to health issues getting in the way. What types of exercise have you tried? Something like walking, swimming, or yoga might be a good place to start. My advice is to definitely start small/slowly, and build your way up. I've found good success with lifting weights although that might not be for everyone. I really like yoga and riding my bike too, although bike riding is only good if you don't have any issues with your backside such as hemorrhoids or fistulas. Yoga is great and I can do that even when I'm not feeling up to doing a whole lot of exercise. Sometimes just a short walk with my dog can do wonders for my mood, too. So give some things a try and see what you like and what your body agrees with. Good luck! And again, welcome. :)

I'm in your boat as well. I've been underweight almost my whole life after being diagnosed. I went to the gym alot back in high school when I played sports but when I went to college I stopped pretty much. Currently thought I got a gym membership and am trying tremendously to put on muscle and weight but it's def x5 harder then a normal person

Just that my bowels get a little over active which makes it quite hard to do things. Muay Thai is what I train in so its something Im not going to stop but I would also like not to be held back by it.
