Laproscopic or Open Surgery

For those of you who have had surgery, was it open or laproscopic?

I had laproscopic.

I was going to have Laproscopic, but at the last minute they changed their mind so i ended up having open.

I have had three open... and now two laproscopic (one for gallbladder, and yesterdays for stoma) - definitely far prefer the laproscopic!!! lol

I just had an open emergency surgery on 11/30/2010. My colon perforated and I became septic. I was in a coma for 1 week and two weeks following that before going home. I came home with an ileostomy and what I call the Grand Canyon on my stomach to pack until it healed. It is been very difficult. If I could do it Laporscopic I would. Hopefully when I get reconnected I will be able to do that Laporascopic. Having an open wound has not been terribly painful but it is very uncomfortable.
