Before starting the liquid diet for my prep...colonoscopy on Friday morning.....

Had chicken legs, and stuffing...oh, and wine! lol.....

Have home made chicken broth waiting for me for tomorrow - going to take some to work tomorrow for lunch....

Think I can sneak in a coffee with half and half first thing in the morning? Like 6am or so?....gotta have my COFFEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.....

Hahaha, good on you! I always said for my next colonoscopy, I'm going to eat like a crazy person for the days before the prep :p

Do it!!!! A couple of months ago when I had my colonoscopy, on my prep day I snuck in a little breakfast early in the morning b/c i was feeling really sick. i say go for the coffee!!

Thank goodness wine is a CLEAR FLUID! ROFL......

Trying not to eat like crazy...although I probably DID eat too much lol.....

Going to work a short day tomorrow - [email protected] home for prep time!

@manzy...that is what I am thinking - my belly is gurgly already - figure dinner tonight will be out tomorrow morning anyway!!!!! lol.....

I know I am going to deal with a caffeine withdrawl headache Friday anyway - why deal with two days?!?!?!

Mine would be a huge burger with everything on it and then Cold Rock Tiramisu icecream with chocolate brownie mixed in.

Ha ha, I have to laugh, I have had so many colonoscopies over the many years and shhhhhhhhhh but I do, discovered I could because if I dont I get a major caffeine headache, but only half a cup. My scopes are perfectly fine. Just dont try it the day of the scope :nonono: . I know it is risky but if you do and I ain't telling you to do it but if you must, make sure you drink lots of water after lol. BTW red wine is illegal...not white wine either so dont even try!! I am on to ya! ;).

Good luck with your prep and scope, I am sure all will be just fine!

Hiya and good luck! :)

Oh yumm!!! Wine and a big greasy cheeseburger with mushrooms and bacon.. (Drooling).. I'm flaring and my tummy just reminded me why I can't have that right now.. Chuckle.. But oh it sounds so good! And coffee.. Yum.. Starbucks pepermint mocha.. Ohhhh

Nah...no red....I have the rest of a bottle of white in the fridge, and a 'dessert' wine - Honeymoon Peach...not bad - very sweet!...

Are you telling me I shouldn't even have a glass of white tonight? sniff sniff.....although, not sure how well it would go with the Miralax prep! hmm....

I can deal with no coffee tomorrow morning - may stand over the coffee maker sniffing the odors though lol.....

Another reason to have a scope scheduled early in the morning! Last year I met a co-worker at our firehouse @6am and got a ride with him to the hospital for a 7am show-up time. This time I don't have to be there until 845, but will probably get there a little after 8 so hubby can get to work by 830.

Both times that I've done prep, my instructions said that coffee & tea are fine to drink during prep as long as they don't have cream in them. So I would think it's perfectly fine for you to have coffee. Like you said, it's just going to come right back out again anyway! Good luck with your prep.

It is interesting - I have read directions from a bunch of places as far as prep day, some say a light meal in the morning is ok, others that you can have clear fluids only, some change the time that you have to stop before the procedure.....

Having had soooooo many of these myself, (lost count years ago), and knowing my body helps too- I usually don't have any problem getting cleaned out, and with things squisy to begin with, the clean out goes a bit faster too.....

Oh well - almost done with my first cup - going to sneak in a 2nd before getting Tori on the bus and my butt off to work!

yay for coffee! :0) good luck today! I hope you don't think about food all day long like i usually do!

i haven't really thought much about my last meals before a scope, but i do promise myself a big unhealthy bacon butty on the way home afterwards :D somehow it tastes better than usual. lol.

Wow who goes to work whilst prepping? Gutsy I say!

Well.....for the daytime it is just the liquid diet - so I just have to suffer through my co-workers eating....although I can head out of the office and patrol to avoid that..only problem is all the food places right here at work! lol.....mmmmm.....someone just walked in with a hot cup of coffee!!!!!!!

I wil lbe leaving early though - usually I stay the whole day, but I am 'pampering' myself.....going to take 2 hours off.....

If you think this is something - way back when when I was pretty much flaring ALL the time - I still went to work - in fact I think at least one time I went from work, to the doc, to the hospital! ...oh to be young and stupid again.......

You're killin' me...lol...read "last meal" and thought...OH NO....toooo funny

Hope your scope goes well and you get great news...enjoy that wine!

Hey good luck Lisa!

I'm with Ding, a greasy bacon butty with a fried egg, and HP brown sauce!
and you gotta have the coffee! I'd die without it!
xxxx

AAHHHHH....was thinking steak with grilled mushrooms and onions, seasoned roasted potatoes and asparagus, all washed down with a couple icy cold Coronas. :cheerss: Sounds dreamy to me. Trying to consider if the reward outweighs the risk. Is a couple days of pain and agony worth 15 minutes of pure tasty bliss???? :duh::nonono: Man, it sucks when your "last meal" can't even be something sinfully delicious. :stinks: What has this world come to, even those on death row have it better than that!!??? Well, maybe not.
:sun:

ok...now you all are making me salivate! lol.....

Have my bottle of tonic water w/lime here at my desk, and a bottle of white grape juice.....alternating between the 2 - although I haven't had the grape juice in soooo long it REALLY tastes sweet - almost too much so!

Usually the evening of the test I have something yummy.....when I was a kid still my Mom used to stop at the mall on the way home and we would go to 'Au Bon Pain' - and I'd get a brie/croissant sandwich!.....

I tried the white grape juice way too sweet I ended up dumping it. The boxed campbell chicken broth was so yummy, just pour it in a cup, microwave it, yum.

Hey pasobuff, you're an old hand just like me.

Did it take a long time for you to be diagnosed?

Good luck with the oscopy x

Hey Debs - It took a while for anyone to take my Mom seriously - I was about 6-7, the doctors thought she was a hysterical mother (I'm 2nd born too!).....

Up until just a few years ago I had 'Ulcerative Colitis'.....then it was changed to Crohns' Colitis.....

Back to drinking the prep...am a little behind- we didn't get back from the school open house until almost 7!....at least I took the dulcolax before heading down there!

Ahhhh yessss....Bob Evans...we don't have them up here in my neck of the woods - BUT I have been there before!

OK, OK - ENOUGH FOOD TALK! lol.....:mad2:
